EN2821 - Oven Care and CleaningSelf-Cleaning the OvenThis oven features a pyrolytic self-cleaning function thateliminates the difficult and time consuming manual scrubbingof the oven interior. During self-cleaning, the oven uses a veryhigh temperature (approx. 885°F/470°C) to burn away foodsoil and grease.• Do not use the cooktop during the oven self cleaning cycle.• Only one oven at a time can be set to Self-Clean.• It is common to see smoke and/or an occasional flame-upduring the Self-Clean cycle, depending on the content andamount of soil remaining in the oven. If a flame persists, turnoff the oven and allow it to cool before opening the door towipe up the excessive food soil.• The door latch is automatically activated after selecting theSelf-Clean cycle. The “AUTO LOCK” text will appear in thedisplay. This ensures that the door cannot be opened whilethe oven interior is at cleaning temperatures.• The oven light does not operate during this mode.• During Self-Clean, the kitchen should be well ventilated tohelp eliminate odors associated with Self-Clean. Odors willlessen with use.• Three hours is the preset length of cleaning.• The mode automatically stops at the end of the preset time.• When the oven heat drops to a safe temperature, theautomatic door lock will release and the door can beopened.Preparing the Oven for Self-Clean1.
