By default, themultifunction machine is set to English.203 - SETUP / GEOGRAPHICAL / LANGUAGE1 Select the required language using an ,then press the OK key to confirm.2 To exit this menu, press .Local prefixThis function is used when your fax is installedwith a private network, behind a company’s PABX.It allows you to program an additional automaticlocal prefix (to be defined), enabling you toautomatically exit the company’s telephonenetwork system, but only under certainconditions:• the company’s internal numbers, where a prefixis not required, must be short numbers lessthan the minimal size (to be defined, forexample France has 10 digits),• the outside numbers requiring a prefix, must belong numbers greater or equal to the minimalsize (to be defined, for example France has 10digits).Programming your fax with the local prefixconsists of two steps:1 defining the minimal size (or equal) of thecompany’s outside numbers,2 defining the outgoing local prefix of thecompany’s telephone network. This prefixwill automatically be added as soon as anexternal number is dialled.Prefix252 - SETUP / TEL. NETWORK / PREFIX1 You can change the default value for the minimalsize of the company’s outside numbers andvalidate with OK.The minimal size will range between 1 and 30.2 Enter the outgoing local prefix of thecompany’s telephone network (maximum 5characters) and validate with OK.3 To exit this menu, press .Transmission reportYou may print a transmission report for allcommunications over the telephone network(PSTN).You may choose between more than one criteriafor printing reports:• WITH: a report is given when the transmissionwas properly performed or when it iscompletely abandoned (but there is only onereport per request),• WITHOUT: no transmission report, however,your fax will note all transmissions that tookplace in its log,• ALWAYS: a report is printed with eachtransmission,• ON ERROR: a report is printed only if thetransmission failed or is abandoned.With each transmission report from memory, areduced version of the first page is automaticallyreproduced.To select the report type:231 OK - SETUP / SEND / SEND REPORT1 Select the required option WITH,WITHOUT, ALWAYS or ON ERROR andconfirm your choice with OK.2 To exit this menu, press .Document feed typeYou may choose the way you want to feed yourdocuments:• from memory, transmission will take placeonly after memory storage of the document anddialling.It allows you to get your originals back quicklyto free up the machine.• from the feeder of the sheet-feed scanner,transmission will occur after dialling and paperscanning. It allows transmission of largerdocuments.To select the way you want to feed yourdocuments:232 - SETUP / SEND / MEMORY SEND.These settings are different from theNETWORK TYPE, which allows you tochoose between public and privatenetwork.If you define a local prefix, do notadd it to the numbers stored in thedirectory, it will be automaticallydialled with each number.
