Replacing Consumables / Maintenance Units- 63 -21345678 Place a new image drum into the printer.9 Close the front cover.Note• The front cover cannot be closed completely if the topcover is not closed. If the light-shielding film of the imagedrum becomes dirty, wipe it byfollowing the procedures below.(1) Open the front cover.(2) Remove the image drum.(3) Wipe the light-shielding film with soft tissuepaper.(4) Put the image drum back to the printer.(5) Close the front cover.Replacing the Fuser Unit andTransfer RollerRecommendation for Replacing theFuser Unit and Transfer RollerWhen the fuser unit and transfer roller nears the end of itslifespan, the message [Time to Replace Fuser] will appear onthe touch panel to notify you that it is time to prepare a newfuser and transfer. You can continue printing until the message[Replace Fuser] appears, then printing will stop.The fuser unit and transfer roller is recommended to bereplaced after about 100,000 prints on A4-sized paper (single-sided printing).Memo• After [Time to Replace Fuser] appears, about another 1,250A4 sheets can be printed (simplex printing) until [ReplaceFuser] appears.Note• Even after the message [Replace Fuser] appears, you maystill continue to print by opening and closing the top cover;however, this may lead to paper jams and other problems.We recommend replacing the fuser unit and transfer rolleras soon as possible.Replace the fuser unit and transfer roller1 Press the [POWER] button until a "pip"sound is heard.
