Troubleshooting > 162DOCUMENTS RECEIVED ARE LIGHT OR HAVE VERTICAL STREAKS ON THEM,AND MFP IS NOT OUT OF TONERGently wipe the lens surface of the MFP's LED array, and thencheck to see if the machine is working properly (See “Clean theLED head” on page 136.). If the MFP still does not work properly,remove the image drum (See “Image drum replacement” onpage 121.), tap the toner cartridge, and slowly swing it 20 to 30degrees vertically several times. Be careful not to let the tonerleak from the cartridge. If this does not work, the image drumunit may need to be replaced. Contact your supplier to get areplacement.MFP IS SET FOR DELAYED TRANSMISSION BUT IT DID NOT SENDCheck the display to make sure that the MFP is set to the correcttime and date (See “Initial set up” on page 64.).MFP WILL NOT POLL A REMOTE MACHINECall the person at the remote machine and make sure that theyhave loaded documents and that their machine is set to pollingtransmission mode.MFP IS CONNECTED TO A PBX BUT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DIAL OUTBe certain that the dial prefix is entered before the telephonenumber for each number dialled or programmed into the MFP(See “Connecting to a PBX” on page 68.).MFP ALWAYS ANSWERS BEFORE ITS POSSIBLE TO USE THE EXTERNALTELEPHONEIf an external telephone is connected, change the MFP’s ringresponse setting (See “Advanced set up” on page 65.).FAXES RECEIVED SOMETIMES LOOK DISTORTEDIf the document received is wider or longer than the paper loadedin the paper tray, the machine automatically reduces the widthor length of the document so that it will fit on the paper. This typeof problem could also be communication related.
