156 LP-1030/LP-1030-MF User's Manual for Basic Printer OperationPrinter AdministrationTo manage the Printer, first register an administrator and then enable printeradministration.Administrator registration allows the following printer administration operations.- Prevent changes to the Printer settings by unspecified users.- Prevent access to the Printer logs by unspecified users.- Prevent access or initialization of accounting information by unspecified users.- Prevent access to the Printer setting information by unspecified users.- Standard-user job operations by user administrators.- Registration for user authentication by user administrators.- Printer version upgrades by user administrators. User Administrators and Standard UsersWhen printer administration is enabled, standard users can copy, submit, scan, andprint. However, only user administrators can perform actions such as changing thePrinter settings.To enable printer administration, one supervisor and one user administrator are required.Administrators are classified into two as follows.- Supervisor (up to three can be registered)- User administrator (up to five can be registered)The following management privileges can be assigned to individual useradministrators.- Printer administration- Job management- Log managementClass Main activitiesAdministratorSupervisor1.
