Categorizing applications39Categorizing applicationsYou can assign an application to a category and then display a single category orall your applications.By default, your handheld includes system-defined categories, such as All andUnfiled, and user-defined categories, such as Games, Main, and System.In addition, you can create your own user-defined categories. You can have amaximum of 15 user-defined categories.To categorize an application:1. Tap the Home icon .2. Tap the Menu icon .3. Select Category on the App menu.4. Tap the pick list next to each application to select a category.TIP To create a new category, tap Edit Categories from the pick list. Tap New,enter the category name, and then tap OK to add the category. Tap OK again toclose the Edit Categories dialog box.5. Tap Done.To display applications by category:1. Tap the Home icon .2. Do one of the following:– Tap the Home icon repeatedly to cycle through all your categories.– Tap the pick list in the upper-right corner of the screen, and select thecategory you want to display.– Press and hold Select on the navigator to open the category list, press Up orDown on the navigator to highlight a category, and then press Select on thenavigator to view that category.Copying applications to or from an expansion cardYou can copy applications from your handheld to an expansion card, or from anexpansion card to your handheld.You can install applications to a card that is seated in the expansion card slotduring a HotSync ® operation. See “Installing files and add-on applications” laterin this chapter for details.You can also beam applications from expansion cards to your handheld or sendapplications from expansion cards to your handheld. See “Beaming data” and“Sending data” in Chapter 3 for details.
