Inspecting the P2 Card Recording1 Check on the display inside the viewfinder that theremaining P2 card recording capacity is sufficient. Pleaserefer to [P2 Card Remaining Free Space/capacityIndication] (page 53) for information about P2 cardremaining recording capacity.2 Set the TCG switch to [R-RUN].3 Set the DISPLAY switch to [TC].4 Press the camera’s REC START/STOP button to check thefollowing items:z The P2 access LED blinks in orange.z The REC lamp inside the viewfinder lights up.z System warnings do not appear inside the viewfinder.5 Press the camera’s REC START/STOP button again.This step confirms that the P2 access LED is on andshowing orange, and the REC lamp in the viewfinder isturned off.6 Using the REC button on the handle, repeat Steps 4 to 5 tocheck the same operation. Check the VTR button on thelens in the same way.7 Press the LIGHT button to check that the screen brightnessin the display window increases.8 Press the PLAY button to check that the clip that has justbeen shot is played back from the beginning.Check that recording and playback operate properly.9 When multiple P2 cards are inserted into the P2 card slots,press the USER MAIN button to select the P2 card used forrecording.Repeat the operations in Steps 4 to 5 and 8 to check thatrecording and playback operate properly.2. Inspecting the Audio Level Automatic Adjustment1 Set the AUDIO SELECT CH1 and CH2 switches to [AUTO].2 Set the AUDIO IN CH1 and CH2 switches to [FRONT].3 Aim the microphone connected to the MIC IN jack at anappropriate sound source. Then, check that the leveldisplays for both CH1 and CH2 change according to thesound level.3. Inspecting the Audio Level Manual Adjustment1 Set the AUDIO IN CH1 and CH2 switches to [FRONT].2 Set the AUDIO SELECT CH1 and CH2 switches to [MAN].3 Turn the AUDIO LEVEL CH1 and CH2 controls.Check that the level display increases when the controlsare turned to the right.4. Inspecting the Earphone and Speaker1 Turn the MONITOR control to check that the speakervolume changes.2 Connect an earphone to the PHONES jack.Check that the speaker is turned off and the microphonesound can be heard from the earphone.3 Turn the MONITOR control to check that the earphonevolume changes.5. Inspection for Using an External Microphone1 Connect an external microphone to the AUDIO IN CH1 andCH2 connectors.2 Set the AUDIO IN CH1 and CH2 switches to [REAR].3 Set the LINE/MIC/+48V selector switches on the rear panelto [MIC] or [+48V], depending on the power supply type ofthe external microphone.MIC: For a microphone with internal power supply.+48V: For a microphone with external power supply.4 Aim the microphone at a sound source.
