To prevent this damagefrom occurring, make sure of the following before transporting the unit to theinstallation site:* The HDD is detached from the VSSC card, and hermetically sealed in anelectrostatic-proof polyethylene bag.* The HDD is placed in a packing box with packing material that providesadequate cushion against jarring, dropping, or bumping of the box.• If the temperature of the open air and the installation site differs by more than 18°F(10°C), a sudden change in temperature could cause moisture to form on VM Unitcomponents, leading to faulty operation of the unit. To avoid this type of damage, leave the components sealed in their polyethylene bags for at least one hour at theinstallation site before opening them.Notes For Single-Cabinet Systems• The VSSC Card must be installed in Free Slot 11 ("FS11") of CAB-96, or FS5 inCAB-40.• The VPU/4 and/or VPU/8 Card(s) must be installed in FS9 and/or FS10 within thesame CAB-96.
