117HDDRESETBefore requesting serviceThe following symptoms do notindicate a malfunction:Ó Normal disc rotation sounds.Ó Weak reception due to atmospheric conditions.Ó Picture interference while searching.Ó Sounds when switching the HDD (Hard disk drive) to SLEEP mode; delayed reaction tocommands in SLEEP mode.Ó Unit does not function with a low-quality disc.Ó The unit stopped running because one of the security settings was activated. (Press andhold on the unit for 10 seconds.)Ó When the HDD (Hard disk drive) automatically switches to SLEEP mode, and when theunit is switched on and off, a brief sound signal can be heard.Resetting the unit if the unit is frozenbecause one of the security settings wasactivated.Ó Press and hold [ /I] on the unit for 10 seconds. (The settings are retained.)Resetting the security-level settings Ó Press DVD. With the disc tray open, press and hold Rec and Play/1.3 on the unit for atleast 5 seconds.Restoring the default factory settingswhile retaining your main settings.Ó In the SETUP menu for Shipping Condition, select the option [Yes]. All settings except forpassword, time and security level will be reset to the factory default settings. The timerrecording programmes will also be deleted.Ó In the SETUP menu for Default Settings, select the option [Yes]. All settings except for theprogrammed channels and the settings for time, country, language, security-level,password and remote-control code will be reset to the factory default settings.Ó Press and hold CH and CH on the unit until the Country menu appears. All settingsexcept for password, time and security level will be reset to the factory default settings. Thetime recording programmes are also erased.
