(> 22)The unit is on but cannot be operated.¾ Drive has not been selected properly.Cannot tune channels.¾ Check the connections.Startup is slow.¾ Startup takes time in the following situations:–A disc is inserted.–The clock is not set.–Immediately after a power failure or the AC mainslead is connected.–When the BD-J application is executing.–When the “Power Save in Standby” is activated.(> 84)Cannot record.Cannot copy.¾ Some broadcasts are copyright protected.¾ You cannot record/copy to the disc.Timer recording does not work properly.¾ Refer to “Notes on timer recording” (> 38)¾ Failed timer recordings are displayed in greywith on the Timer Recording screen. (> 37)When you programme a timer recording, check thescreen icons. If “!” is displayed, this timerprogramme may not be recorded because:–there is not enough space left.–the number of possible titles has reached itsmaximum.–programmes are deactivated, etc.A part or whole of a recorded title has beenlost.¾ If there is a power failure or the AC mains lead isdisconnected from the household mains socketwhile recording or editing, the title may be lost orthe HDD may become unusable.We cannot offer any guarantee regarding lostprogrammes.Auto Renewal Recording does not workproperly.¾ The programme will not be overwritten in thefollowing cases:–the programme is protected–any programme is being played back–a screen such as DIRECT NAVIGATOR isdisplayedInstead, the programme will be saved as aseparate programme and that will be overwritten.Cannot playback.¾ The disc is dirty, scratched or marked. (> 21)¾ You tried to play a +RW that needs to have a TopMenu on the equipment used for recording.¾ [BD-R] [BD-RE]Set “Play Video ( AVCHD ) on BD-RE / BD-R” to“On” and the playback may be possible (> 77).¾ The disc that is recorded by using other equipmentand not finalised may not be able to playback.Audio and video momentarily pause.¾ (DVD-R DL and +R DL only) When playing a titlerecorded on both layers, the unit automaticallyswitches between layers and plays the title in thesame way as a normal programme. However,video and audio may momentarily cut out when theunit is switching layers.BD-Video or DVD-Video is not played.¾ You have set a rating level.
