Spindle4WARNING• When using an abrasive cut-off disc,be sure to use only the cut-off discguard designed for this use withcut-off disc.• NEVER use cut-off disc for grinding.• Do not jam the Disc or applyexcessive pressure. Do not attemptto make an excessive depth ofcut. Overstressing the cut-offdisc increases the loading andsusceptibility to twisting or bindingof the cut-off disc in the cut and thepossibility of kickback, cut-off discbreakage and overheating of themotor may occur.• Do not start when disc is in theworkpiece. To do so causes thecut-off disc binding or kickback. Letthe cut-off disc reach full speed andthen carefully cut the workpiece.• During cutting operations, neverchange the angle of the disc. Placingside pressure on the cut-off disc(as in grinding) will cause the discto crack and break, causing seriouspersonal injury.CAUTION• To prevent excessive temperatureincrease of the tool surface, do notoperate the tool continuously usingtwo or more battery packs. The toolneeds cool-off time before switchingto another pack.• Do not close up ventilation slotson the sides of the body duringoperation. Otherwise, the machinefunction is adversely affected tocause a failure.• Do not strain the tool (motor). Thismay cause damage to the unit.• Use the tool in such a way as toprevent the air from the ventilationslots from blowing directly onto yourskin. Otherwise, you may get burned.Indicator lamp for On lockstart prevention functionThe grinder will not start when thebattery pack is inserted with the switchat the ON position (switch lever at ON).The warning lamp will flash at thistime to indicate that the ‘On lock startprevention function’ has operated.Press the switch to the OFF position(switch lever at OFF) and then press itback to the ON position (switch lever atON) to start the grinder.ONOFF OFF ON
