ADDITIONALSAFETY RULESSafety instructions for alloperationsSafety warning common for Grindingor Abrasive Cutting-off operations:1) This power tool is intended tofunction as a grinder, or cut-offtool. Read all safety warnings,instructions, illustrations andspecifications provided with thispower tool. Failure to follow allinstructions listed below may result inelectric shock, fire and/or seriousinjury.2) Operations such as sanding, wirebrushing, polishing are notrecommended to be performed withthis power tool. Operations for whichthe power tool was not designed maycreate a hazard and cause personalinjury.3) Do not use accessories whichare not specifically designedand recommended by the toolmanufacturer. Just because theaccessory can be attached to yourpower tool, it does not assure safeoperation.4) The rated speed of the accessorymust be at least equal to themaximum speed marked on thepower tool. Accessories runningfaster than their RATED SPEED canbreak and fly apart.5) The outside diameter and thethickness of your accessory mustbe within the capacity rating ofyour power tool. Incorrectly sizedaccessories cannot be adequatelyguarded or controlled.6) Threaded mounting of accessoriesmust match the grinder spindlethread. For accessories mountedby flanges, the arbour hole of theaccessory must fit the locatingdiameter of the flange. Accessoriesthat do not match the mountinghardware of the power tool will runout of balance, vibrate excessivelyand may cause loss of control.7) Do not use a damaged accessory.Before each use inspect theaccessory such as abrasivewheels for chips and cracks.If power tool or accessory isdropped, inspect for damage orinstall an undamaged accessory.After inspecting and installing anaccessory, position yourself andbystanders away from the plane ofthe rotating accessory and run thepower tool at maximum no-loadspeed for one minute. Damagedaccessories will normally break apartduring this test time.8) Wear personal protectiveequipment. Depending onapplication, use face shield,safety goggles or safety glasses.As appropriate, wear dust mask,hearing protectors, glovesand workshop apron capableof stopping small abrasive orworkpiece fragments. The eyeprotection must be capable ofstopping flying debris generatedby various operations. The dustmask or respirator must be capableof filtrating particles generated byyour operation. Prolonged exposureto high intensity noise may causehearing loss.9) Keep bystanders a safe distanceaway from work area. Anyoneentering the work area must wearpersonal protective equipment.Fragments of workpiece or of abroken accessory may fly away andcause injury beyond immediate areaof operation.10) Hold the power tool by insulatedgripping surfaces only, whenperforming an operation where thecutting tool may contact hiddenwiring. Contact with a “live” wirewill also make exposed metalparts of the power tool “live” andcould give the operator an electricshock.
