- 14 -[Battery Pack]For Appropriate Use ofBattery PackLi-ion Battery Pack● For optimum battery life, store the Li-ion battery pack following use withoutcharging it.● When charging the battery pack, confirmthat the terminals on the battery chargerare free of foreign substances such asdust and water etc. Clean the terminalsbefore charging the battery pack if anyforeign substances are found on theterminals.The life of the battery pack terminals maybe affected by foreign substances suchas dust and water etc. during operation.● When battery pack is not in use, keep itaway from other metal objects like: paperclips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or othersmall metal objects that can make aconnection from one terminal to another.Shorting the battery terminals togethermay cause sparks, burns or a fire.● When operating the battery pack, makesure the work place is well ventilated.● When the battery pack is removed from themain body of the tool, replace the batterypack cover immediately in order to preventdust or dirt from contaminating the batteryterminals and causing a short circuit.Battery Pack LifeThe rechargeable batteries havea limited life. If the operation timeb e c o m e s e x t r e m e l y s h o r t a f t e rrecharging, replace the battery packwith a new one.Battery RecyclingATTENTION:For environmental protection andrecycling of materials, be sure that itis disposed of at an officially assignedlocation, if there is one in your country.[Battery Charger]ChargingCAUTION:● If the temperature of the battery packfalls approximately below −10°C (14°F),charging will automatically stop toprevent degradation of the battery.● The ambient temperature range isbetween 0°C (32°F) and 40°C (104°F).If the battery pack is used when thebattery temperature is below 0°C (32°F),the tool may fail to function properly.● When charging a cool battery pack(below 0°C (32°F)) in a warm place,leave the battery pack at the place andwait for more than one hour to warm upthe battery to the level of the ambienttemperature.● Cool down the charger when chargingmore than two battery packs consecutively.● Do not insert your fingers into contacthole, when holding charger or any otheroccasions.To prevent the risk of fire or damage to thebattery charger.● Do not use power source from an enginegenerator.● Do not cover vent holes on the chargerand the battery pack.● Unplug the charger when not in use.Li-ion Battery PackNOTE:Your battery pack is not fully charged atthe time of purchase.
