Inspecting theEarphone and Speaker].1. Inspecting the P2 Card Recording1 Check on the display inside the viewfinder that theremaining P2 card recording capacity is sufficient.Please refer to [P2 Card Remaining Free Space/capacity Indication] (page 77) for information aboutP2 card remaining recording capacity.2 Set the TCG switch to [R-RUN].3 Set the DISPLAY switch to [TC].4 Press the camera’s REC START/STOP button tocheck the following items:z The P2 access LED blinks in orange.z The REC lamp inside the viewfinder lights up.z System warnings do not appear inside theviewfinder.5 Press the camera’s REC START/STOP button again.This step confirms that the P2 access LED is on andshowing orange, and the REC lamp in the viewfinderis turned off.6 Using the REC button on the handle, repeat Steps 4to 5 to check the same operation. Check the VTRbutton on the lens in the same way.7 Press the LIGHT button to check that the screenbrightness in the display window increases.8 Press the PLAY button to check that the clip that hasjust been shot is played back from the beginning.Check that recording and playback operate properly.9 When multiple P2 cards are inserted into the P2 cardslots, press the USER MAIN button to select the P2card used for recording.Repeat the operations in Steps 4 to 5 and 8 to checkthat recording and playback operate properly.2. Inspecting the Audio Level Automatic Adjustment1 Set the AUDIO SELECT CH1 and CH2 switches to[AUTO].2 Set the AUDIO IN CH1 and CH2 switches to[FRONT].3 Aim the microphone connected to the MIC IN jack atan appropriate sound source. Then, check that thelevel displays for both CH1 and CH2 changeaccording to the sound level.3. Inspecting the Audio Level Manual Adjustment1 Set the AUDIO IN CH1 and CH2 switches to[FRONT].2 Set the AUDIO SELECT CH1 and CH2 switches to[MAN].3 Turn the AUDIO LEVEL CH1 and CH2 controls.Check that the level display increases when thecontrols are turned to the right.4. Inspecting the Earphone and Speaker1 Turn the MONITOR control to check that the speakervolume changes.2 Connect an earphone to the PHONES jack.Check that the speaker is turned off and themicrophone sound can be heard from the earphone.3 Turn the MONITOR control to check that theearphone volume changes.5. Inspection for Using an External Microphone1 Connect an external microphone to the AUDIO INCH1 and CH2 connectors.2 Set the AUDIO IN CH1 and CH2 switches to [REAR].3 Set the LINE/MIC/+48V selector switches on the rearpanel to [MIC] or [+48V], depending on the powersupply type of the external microphone.MIC: For a microphone with internal power supply.+48V: For a microphone with external power supply.4 Aim the microphone at a sound source.
