Change the receive modeto TEL mode (p. 38).l If a blank sheet is ejected after the received document isprinted out, the receiving reduction rate is not programmedcorrectly. Program the proper rate in feature #36 (p. 53).l The other party placed the document in their fax machinethe wrong way. Check with the other party.l The glass or rollers are dirty. Clean them (p. 68).l The other party sent a faint document. Ask them to send aclearer copy of the document.l The thermal head is dirty. Clean it (p. 68).l Some paper has instructions recommending which side toprint on. Try turning the paper over. We recommend smoothpaper such as Hammermill Jet Print for clearer printing.l You may have used paper with a cotton and/or fibercontent that is over 20%, such as letterhead or resumepaper. We recommend smooth paper such as HammermillJet Print for clearer printing.Cause & solutionThe display shows thefollowing, but faxes are notreceived.A blank sheet is ejected.A white line or a dirty patternappears on your recordingpaper.The printing quality is poor.CONNECTING.....I cannot select the desiredreceive mode.The other party complains thatthey cannot send a document.Receive modeProbleml If you want to set FAX ONLY or TEL/FAX mode:— select the desired mode using feature #77 (p. 55), and— press to turn on the arrow (t) onthe right of the display.Display:ONl If you want to set TEL mode:— press to turn off the arrow (t) onthe right of the display.ONl The unit is not in AUTO ANSWER mode.
