Help478 HelpError Messages8.1 Error messages –ReportsIf a problem occurs during fax transmission orreception, one of the following messages will beprinted on the sending and journal reports (page30).COMMUNICATION ERROR(Code: 40-42, 46-72, FF)L A transmission or reception error occurred.Try again or check with the other party.COMMUNICATION ERROR(Code: 43, 44)L A line problem occurred. Connect thetelephone line cord to a different jack and tryagain.L An overseas transmission error occurred. Tryusing the overseas mode (feature #23, page43).DOCUMENT JAMMEDL The document is jammed. Remove thejammed document (page 59).ERROR-NOT YOUR UNIT(Code: 54, 59, 70)L A transmission or reception error occurredbecause of a problem with the other party’sfax machine. Check with the other party.JUNK FAX PROH. REJECTL The junk fax prohibitor feature of this unitrejected fax reception.MEMORY FULLL The memory is full of received documentsdue to a lack of recording paper or arecording paper jam. Install paper (page 15)or clear the jammed paper (page 56).NO DOCUMENTL The document was not fed into the unitproperly. Re-insert it and try again.OTHER FAX NOT RESPONDINGL The other party’s fax machine is busy or hasrun out of recording paper. Try again.L The other party’s fax machine rings too manytimes. Send the fax manually (page 29).L The other party’s machine is not a faxmachine. Check with the other party.L The number you dialled is not in service.PRESSED THE STOP KEYL {STOP} was pressed and fax communicationwas cancelled.THE COVER WAS OPENEDL The front cover was opened. Re-insert the document. Ifmisfeeding occurs frequently, clean thedocument feeder rollers (page 60) and tryagain.—————————————————————CHECK DRUML The drum unit is not inserted properly. Re-insert it correctly (page 12).—————————————————————CHECK MEMORYL The memory (telephone numbers,parameters, etc.) has been erased. Re-program.—————————————————————COVER OPENL The front cover is open. Close it.
