Ringer Equivalence Number (REN)The REN is used to determine the number ofdevices that may be connected to a telephone line.Excessive RENs on a telephone line may result inthe devices not ringing in response to an incomingcall. In most but not all areas, the sum of RENsshould not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of thenumber of devices that may be connected to a line,as determined by the total RENs, contact the localtelephone company. The REN for this product ispart of the product identifier that has the format US:ACJTE04BKX-NT700. The digits represented by 04are the REN without a decimal point (e.g., 04 is aREN of 0.4). For earlier products, the REN isseparately shown on the label.3. Incidence of Harm to the Telephone LinesIf this equipment causes harm to the telephonenetwork, the telephone company will notify you inadvance that temporary discontinuance of servicemay be required. But if advance notice isn'tpractical, the telephone company will notify thecustomer as soon as possible. Also, you will beadvised of your right to file a complaint with the FCCif you believe it is necessary.4. Changes in Telephone CompanyCommunications Facilities, Equipment,Operations and ProceduresThe telephone company may make changes in itsfacilities, equipment, operations or procedures thatcould affect the operation of the equipment. If thishappens the telephone company will provideadvance notice in order for you to make necessarymodifications to maintain uninterrupted service.5. Trouble with this EquipmentIf trouble is experienced with this equipment, forrepair or warranty information, please see theattached warranty, which includes the shippingaddress of the Panasonic Service and TechnologyCompany BTS Center. If the equipment is causingharm to the telephone network, the telephonecompany may request that you disconnect theequipment until the problem is resolved.6. Connection to Party LineConnection to party line service is subject to statetariffs. Contact the state public utility commission,public service commission or corporationcommission for information.7. Combined Use with Alarm EquipmentIf your home has specially wired alarm equipmentconnected to the telephone line, ensure theinstallation of this equipment does not disable youralarm equipment. If you have questions about whatwill disable alarm equipment, consult yourtelephone company or a qualified installer.8. Automatic Dialing FeaturesWhen programming emergency numbers and/ormaking test calls to emergency numbers:i. Remain on the line and briefly explain to thedispatcher the reason for the call beforehanging up.ii.
