Close the handset cover.Note:L Use only rechargeable batteries (page 6).Battery replacementImportant:L We recommend the use of Panasonicrechargeable batteries noted on page 5.Press the notch on the handset cover firmlyand slide it in the direction of the arrow.Remove the old batteries positive (S)terminal first and install the new ones.Battery chargePlace the handset on the base unit forabout 7 hours before initial use.When charging, $ and battery strengthicon are alternately shown on the display.When the batteries are fully charged, !remains on the display.Note:L It is normal for the handset to feel warmduring charging.L If you want to use the unit immediately,charge the batteries for at least 15minutes.L Clean the charge contacts (page 9) of thehandset and base unit with a soft, drycloth once a month, otherwise thebatteries may not charge properly.
