The unit’s voiceguidance will prompt you to press certaindial keys to perform different operations.Important:L In order to operate the answering systemremotely, you must first turn on remoteoperation by setting a remote accesscode. This code must be entered eachtime you operate the answering systemremotely.Turning remote operation onA 3-digit remote access code must beentered when operating the answeringsystem remotely. This code preventsunauthorised parties from listening to yourmessages remotely. After you store yourremote access code, remote operation ispossible.1 " (centre of joystick) i l i #2 “Settings” i #3 “Remote Code” i #4 To turn on remote operation, enter a 3-digit remote access code.L To turn off remote operation, press{*}.5 # i {ih}Note:L If you have stored the remote accesscode, you can turn on answering systemby calling the unit even when it is turnedoff. This call may be answered before thering delay feature of the night mode (page32, 37) activates. You need to select “30sec.” for activating the ring delayfeature.Using the answering systemremotely1 Dial your phone number from a touchtone phone.2 After the greeting message starts, enteryour remote access code.L The unit will announce the number ofnew messages.L After 3 seconds, voice guidance starts.3 Follow the voice guidance prompts asnecessary.Note:L You can hang up at any time.L You can ignore the voice guidance andcontrol the unit using remote commands(page 55).Voice guidanceDuring remote operation, the unit’s voiceguidance will prompt you to press {1} toperform a specific operation, or press {2} tolisten to more available operations.Operations are presented by voice guidancein the following order:– Play back all messages– Play back new messages– Record a message– Erase all messages– Record your greeting messageNote:L If less than 5 minutes of recording time isavailable, the unit will announce theremaining recording time after the lastmessage is played back.
