Listening to Messages42Using the Handset (Remote Operation)To play back messages*If you press [STOP] on the base unit during message playback, operation isstopped. To resume the playback, press [MESSAGE/SLOW TALK] on the baseunit within 15 seconds, or the voice menu will start (see below).• If noise interferes with the message playback:— during playback using [ ], press [ ] (Channel).— during playback using [ ], press [ ] (Channel).The unit selects a clearer channel.• At the end of the last message, “End of final message” is heard. The unit willannounce the remaining recording time if it is less than 3 minutes.• If the unit starts to ring during the remote operation, press [ ] or [ ] to answerthe call. To playback, start again from the beginning after hanging up.• If you hear “Memory full” after playback, erase unnecessary messages (p. 44).Voice menuIf you do not press any buttons at the end of the last message, the unit willannounce “End of final message” and the voice menu will begin.The unit announces, “Press 4 to play back new messages. Press 5 to play back allmessages.”• You can press buttons for other options (p. 43) even if the voice menu has started.• If you do not press any buttons within 10 seconds, the handset will exit remoteoperation.1 Press [MENU].2 Scroll to “Message play” by pressing [ ] or[ ], then press Select.• The unit announces the number of new messagesand only new messages are played back.• The messages will be heard from the speaker.To switch to the receiver, press [ ]. To switchback to the speaker, press [ ].• [MESSAGE/SLOW TALK], [REPEAT], [SKIP]and [STOP]* can also be used during playback(p. 43).• When you have no new messages, the unitannounces “No new messages.
