Installation12RechargeRecharge the battery when:—“Recharge battery” is displayed on the cordlesshandset,—“ ” flashes, or—the cordless handset beeps intermittently while it is in use.• If you DO NOT recharge the battery for more than 15 minutes, the display willcontinually indicate “Recharge battery” and/or “ ” will flash when thecordless handset is lifted off the charger.• If the battery has been discharged, the cordless handset will display “Chargefor 15HRS” and “ ” when you place the cordless handset on the charger.The cordless handset will not work unless the battery is charged. Keep charging.A nickel cadmium battery that is recyclable powers the productyou have purchased. At the end of its useful life, under variousstate and local laws, it is illegal to dispose of this battery intoyour municipal waste stream. Please call 1-800-8-BATTERY forinformation on how to recycle this battery.Battery informationAfter your Panasonic battery is fully charged:*When using 2-Way Radio mode (p. 47): Up to 12 hours (standby)• The battery operating time may be shortened depending on usage conditions andambient temperature.• Clean the charge contacts of the cordless handset and the charger with asoft, dry cloth once a month. Clean more often if the unit is subject togrease, dust or high humidity. Otherwise the battery may not charge properly.• If the battery is fully charged, you do not have to place the cordless handset onthe charger until “Recharge battery” is displayed and/or “ ” flashes. Thiswill maximize the battery life.• The battery cannot be overcharged.Battery replacement:If you cleaned the charge contacts and fully charged the battery, but after a fewtelephone calls, “Recharge battery” is displayed and/or “ ” continues toflash, or “Charge for 15HRS” and “ ” are displayed, the battery needs tobe replaced. Please replace with a new Panasonic N4HKGMA00001 (P-P511)battery.
