Getting Started9Note when setting upNote for connectionsL The AC adaptor must remainconnected at all times. (It is normal forthe adaptor to feel warm during use.)L The AC adaptor should be connectedto a vertically oriented or floor-mounted AC outlet. Do not connectthe AC adaptor to a ceiling-mountedAC outlet, as the weight of the adaptormay cause it to become disconnected.During a power failureThe unit will not work during a powerfailure. We recommend connecting acorded-type telephone (without ACadaptor) to the same telephone line or tothe same telephone line jack using a T-adaptor.Note for battery installationL Use the supplied rechargeablebatteries. For replacement, werecommend using the Panasonicrechargeable batteries noted on page4, 6.L Wipe the battery ends (S, T) with adry cloth.L Avoid touching the battery ends (S,T) or the unit contacts.Note for battery chargeL It is normal for the handset to feelwarm during charging.L Clean the charge contacts of thehandset, base unit, and charger with asoft and dry cloth once a month. Cleanmore often if the unit is exposed togrease, dust, or high humidity.Battery levelPanasonic Ni-MH batteryperformance (supplied batteries)*1 If Eco mode is on.Note:L Actual battery performance dependson usage and ambient environment.L Even after the handset is fullycharged, the handset can be left onthe base unit or charger without any illeffect on the batteries.L The battery level may not bedisplayed correctly after you replacethe batteries.
