Using Caller ID serviceImportant:R This unit is Caller ID compatible. To use CallerID features, you must subscribe to a Caller IDservice. Contact your service provider/telephonecompany for details.Caller ID featuresHandset / Base unitWhen an outside call is being received, the callerinformation is displayed.Caller information for the last 50 callers is loggedin the caller list from the most recent call to theoldest.R If the unit cannot receive caller information, thefollowing is displayed:– “Out of area”: The caller dials from anarea which does not provide a Caller IDservice.– “Private caller”: The caller requests notto send caller information.– “Long distance”: The caller makes a longdistance call.R If the unit is connected to a PBX system, callerinformation may not be properly received.Contact your PBX supplier.Missed callsHandset / Base unitIf a call is not answered, the unit treats it as amissed call. The display shows “Missed call”.Note:R Even when there are unviewed missed calls,“Missed call” disappears from the standbydisplay if the following operation is performed byone of the units:– A handset is replaced on the base unit orcharger.– Pressing MOFFN on a handset.– Pressing MEXITN on the base unit.Phonebook name displayWhen caller information is received and it matchesa phone number stored in the phonebook, thestored name in the phonebook is displayed andlogged in the caller list.Talking Caller IDHandset / Base unitThis feature lets you know who is calling withoutlooking at the display.To use this feature, you must:– subscribe to a Caller ID service of your serviceprovider/telephone company.– turn this feature on (page 41).When caller information is received, the handsetsand base unit announce the caller’s name orphone number received from your service provider/telephone company following every ring.The unit announces in English only.R Name pronunciation may vary. This feature maynot pronounce all names correctly.R Caller ID service has a limit of how manycharacters can be displayed. If the caller’s nameis too long, the unit may not be able to display orannounce the entire name.Phonebook name announcementWhen caller information is received and it matchesa phone number stored in the phonebook, thestored name in the phonebook is announced.Caller listImportant:R Make sure the unit’s date and time setting iscorrect (page 16).Viewing the caller list and calling backn Using a cellular lineHandset1 MCN CID2 Press MCN to search from the most recent call,or MDN to search from the oldest call.3 To call back, press MCELLN.R The unit starts dialing when:– only 1 cellular phone is paired.– a specific line is set to make cellular calls(page 20).To exit, press MOFFN.4 MbN: Select the desired cellular phone. aMSELECTNFor assistance, please visit http://www.panasonic.com/help 47Caller ID Service
