24Leveling the ProjectorFor the best viewing result free from distortion, theprojector should be carefully leveled on its base.Follow the steps below to correct the tilt angle of theprojector when it is installed on a floor-standing base.Adjusting the Vertical Position ofthe PictureThe vertical position of the picture can be adjustedusing the electric “LENS SHIFT” buttons on the rearcontrol panel. Do this adjustment after the projectiondistance and projector position have beendetermined.• Adjusting vertical position with the “LENSSHIFT” buttons:2. Release the LEVELING levers.The leveling feet lock in place.3. Make fine leveling adjustments bymanually turning the leveling feet.While lifting the front side of the projector, raise theLeveling lever, and then slowly lower the unit.Caution• Keep holding the projector until both levelingfeet touch the base surface.Note• The maximum length of the leveling foot is 47mm. If it is rotated on reaching that length it willturn freely without extending further.• If the picture has keystone distortion, dokeystone adjustment from the menu. (page 32)Caution• Do not press the LEVELING levers withoutholding the projector with your hands.Otherwise, the leveling feet will be unlocked andthe projector may drop rapidly onto the projectorbase surface, possibly leading to damage.• Adjusting vertical position from the menu:Alternatively, you can adjust the vertical position ofthe picture by choosing the “LENS SHIFT” optionfrom the “OPTION 1” menu chosen from the MAINMENU (see page 34).LEVELING Leveron each side.
