See “TEMP indicator” on page 41.Do not set up the projector near high-voltage powerlines or near motors.The projector may be subject to electromagneticinterference.If installing the projector to the ceiling, ask aqualified technician to carry out all installation work.You will need to purchase the separate installation kit.Furthermore, all installation work is should only becarried out by a qualified technician.If using this projector at high elevations, 1 400 -2 700 m (4 593 - 8 858 ft) sea level, set the ALTITUDEto HIGH. See “ALTITUDE” on page 37.Failure to observe this may result in malfunctions orthe life of the lamp or the other components may beshortened.Do not use the projector at high elevation higher than2 700 m (8 858 ft).In order to get the best picture qualityDraw curtains or blinds over any windows and turn offany lights near the screen to prevent outside light orlight from indoor lamps from shining onto the screen.Optical componentsIf you use the projector consecutively 6 hours everyday, the optical components may need to be replacedin less than 1 year.Liquid crystal panelDo not project the same image for long periods oftime, as this may remain as an afterimage on theliquid crystal panel. Display the white screen testpattern for more than an hour to remove it. See“TEST PATTERN” on page 38.The liquid crystal panel of the projector is built withvery high precision technology to provide fine picturedetails. Occasionally, a few stuck pixels may appearon the screen as fixed points of blue, green or red. Itis recommended to switch off the projector once andtry after 1 hour later again. Please note that this doesnot affect the performance of your LCD.The projector has a high pressure mercury lamp andthat is characterised as follows:The brightness of the lamp depends on the durationof use.The lamp may explode or shorten the lamp life byshocks or chipping damage.The lamp may explode only occasionally after usingthe projector.When the lamp exploded, it emits the internal smoke-like gas.The lamp may explode if using the projector after theinstructed lamp replacement timing.The lamp life is depends on individual lampcharacteristics, usage condition and the installationenvironment. Especially the consecutive use of theprojector for more than 10 hours, or the frequentswitching on or off may greatly affect on the lamp life.Do not touch the surfaces of the lens cover with yourbare hands.If the surface of the lens cover becomes dirty fromfingerprints or anything else, this will be magnifiedand projected onto the screen.Take safety measures for use of the projector whichshould cover the following envisioned incidents.The leakage of your personal registered information.Dishonest operation by an untrusted third party.Locking out or prevent anyone else from using theprojector by an untrusted third party.Security instructionChange your password regularly.Do not use too simple password to guess.Any of Authorised Service Centres will never ask youfor the password.Do not share your password with the general public.Secure the network environment by the firewall.Cautions when installingCautions on useSecurity
