(See page 38.)5 Press the play button in the compact discsection.The ATLS function (See page 40) will operate to adjust therecording level, and then recording will start.When edit-recording has finished, the cassette deck automat-ically creates a non-recorded passage of about four secondsin length, and then enters the recording standby mode.@When you need to record a third disc or more, follow thesteps above.@ To cancel the link edit-recordingThis function is also available from the remote control. Follow theprocedure described below.(In the recording standby mode)Press the stop button in the deck section.Notes:When stopped the compact disc play during link edit recording, theediting mode will be cancelled.Never release the recording standby condition of the deck sectionby pressing stop button.(The editing mode will be cancelled.)About ATLS(Automatic Tape Level Setting)_ The unit automatically scans for the peak (highest) level of theentire disc.When the peak level is found, the peak signal will be automaticallysent to the tape deck for about six seconds and the tape deck willautomatically set the recording level. During this period the peaklevel will not be output.
