6PRECAUTIONS• Refer all work related to the installation of this productto qualified service personnel or system installers.• Prevent condensation from forming on the surface ofthe hard disk. Wait until the dew evaporates in any ofthe following cases.The recorder is moved to a place significantly differ-ent in temperature or humidity.The recorder is moved out of an air-conditionedroom.The recorder is placed in an extremely humidplace.The recorder is placed in a room where a heaterhas just been turned on.• Consumable partsContact your dealer for replacement of the followingparts when the time comes:Built-in hard disk needs replacement after around30 000 hours of operation.Cooling fan also needs replacement after around30 000 hours of operation.Backup battery has a lifetime of around five (5)years in an ordinary environment.• Do not block the ventilation opening or slots on thecover.To prevent the appliance from overheating, place it atleast 5 cm (2 inches) away from the wall.• Do not drop metallic parts through slots.This could permanently damage the appliance. Turnthe power off immediately and contact qualified servicepersonnel for service.• Handle the appliance with care.Do not strike or shake, as this may damage the appli-ance.• Fully charge up the backup battery.Keep the appliance turned on for at least 48 hours torecharge the backup battery. This procedure is neces-sary when using the appliance for the first time or afterit has been unplugged for a long time from the AC out-let. Insufficient charging of the battery may cause era-sure of settings if the AC power supply should fail.• We recommend that you note down your settings andretain them. Power or battery failure may erase settingsyou entered.• Do not expose the appliance to water or moisture, nortry to operate it in wet areas.• Do not use strong or abrasive detergents when clean-ing the appliance body.Use a dry cloth to clean the appliance when it is dirty.When the dirt is hard to remove, use a mild detergentand wipe gently.• Do not operate the appliance beyond its specified tem-perature, humidity or power source ratings.Do not use the appliance in an extreme environmentwhere high temperature or high humidity exists. Use theappliance at temperatures within +5 °C to +45 °C (41 °Fto 113 °F) and a humidity below 90 %.The input power source for this appliance is 120 V AC60 Hz.• It might occur some kind of malfunction of "RECORD" or"PLAY", or "damage or defect of recorded data", due tofailure or trouble of machine. Any consequent damageor loss arising from such problem is not subject of thewarranty.
