Setup23For Mac OS X 10.1 - Mac OS X 10.2Step 1: Installing the DP-CL21M PPD(PostScript Printer Description) fileand ColorSync profile1 Insert the DP-CL21M CD-ROM disk in your CD-ROMdrive, and then double-click the DP-CL21M icon,Mac OS X, English folder.2 Double click the DP-CL21M Install icon.3 Follow the instructions to complete the installation.NOTE:• If you want to print Classic application documents, youare required to install the DP-CL21M software for MacOS 9.2, then set the computer and printer. Refer to ìForMac OS 8.1-Mac OS 9.2î in this section.Set the computer (and printer) depending on the interface:network (see below) or USB (see page 25).■ When using the Network Interface CableThe following are the steps to set up network printingusing AppleTalk and TCP/IP.Step 1: Setting up AppleTalk and TCP/IP on the computerStep 2: Setting up TCP/IP on the printerStep 3: Setting the PostScript printer driverStep 1: Setting up AppleTalk and TCP/IP onthe computerIf the AppleTalk and TCP/IP of your computer are alreadyset, proceed to the next step. If they are not set, consultwith your network administrator. Regarding theconfiguration of TCP/IP, refer to the help menu ordocumentation for Macintosh.NOTE:• Refer to ìNetworkî section in the Operating Instructionsabout setting the AppleTalk and TCP/IP to yourMacintosh.Step 2: Setting up TCP/IP on the printerYou need to set the IP Address, Subnet Mask and DefaultGateway for the printer. It can be set by using one of thefollowing three methods.• Using the DHCP server• Using the Network Setup Tool• Using the Printer PanelIf the administrator manages the network with DHCPserver, it will automatically assign an IP Address, SubnetMask and Default Gateway. These can be viewed byprinting out the configuration page (see below).For the instructions of another method, refer to ìNetworkîsection in the Operating Instructions (see ìUsing theManualsî on page 27).1 Turn the printer on (see ìPower Onî on page 28).2 Press MENU/EXIT (PAUSE) button on the printerpanel.3 Press (CONTINUE) button until Test Page menuappears.4 Press ENTER button.Menu Map item menu appears.5 Press (CONTINUE) button until ConfigurationPage item menu appears.6 Press ENTER button.The configuration page will be printed.7 Confirm the IP Address and MAC Address on theconfiguration page.Setting the Computer (and Printer)Setup
