35Periodic checkDaily checks are not enough to keep the properperformance of this product for a long time.Perform the periodic check without fail. It is importantto keep the proper performance of this product for along time.In the periodic check, check the product thoroughlyincluding checking and cleaning of the inside of thisproduct.Conduct the periodic check every 6 months normally.If there is a mass of fine dust, oily smoke, etc. aroundthis product, perform the regular check every 3 monthsas a guideline.Check guidelineWhile details for checking are shown below table,consider any additional check items according to yourconditions of use.WARNING• To secure physical safety, make sure that a qualified person or a person who isfamiliar with the welding machine takes care of a regular check.• As for the inside check, make sure to conduct it at least 5 minutes after turning thepower off in consideration of electric discharge from a capacitor.CAUTION To prevent the electrostatic destruction of semiconductor parts and theprinted circuit board, observe the following.Allow static electricity to escape by, for example, touching the metal parts of the case with yourhand before touching the equipment, the conductor of wire and/or the printed circuit board.Notice About cleaning of plastic partsPlastic parts may be melted or deformed when they are subjected to organic solvent (benzin, toluene, kerosene,gasoline, etc.).When cleaning them, soak a soft cloth with a small amount of water or diluted mild detergent for home use, andwring it and use for wiping those parts.Check item GuidelineRemoval of inside dust Remove the top panel before cleaning.Blow off internally-accumulated dirt and dust by compressed air without moistureincluded (dry air).Overall check Remove the top panel and check the followings and other items that are not covered bythe daily check intensively.• The presence of odor, discoloration, and traces of heat generation• Loose connections• Additional fasteningCables and hoses Regarding the grounding wire (for this product, base material, etc.), input and outputcables, cables for the torch switch, remote control unit, etc., and hoses (for gases, andfor water supply and drainage when using the water-cooling torch), check those itemsthat are not covered by the daily check (See page 12-1) intensively.Inspection andmaintenance ofconsumable partsWhen conducting inspection or maintenance, treat the cooling fan and electrolyticcapacitor as consumable parts as they have a given electrical and mechanical liferespectively.For example, when they are used under the rated specifications, the life of the coolingfan is about 10,000 hours, and that of the electrolytic capacitor is about 8,000 hours.Their actual duration depends on how those items are used by customers.Maintenance and inspection
