2Modem/DSU Commands2-716800-A2-GB31-20 January 1997Change Telephone Number(s) (chtn)(Disruptive)Use the chtn command to change one or more of the telephone numbers used by a COMSPHERE3400/4400 Series modem equipped with the Auto-Call Auto-Answer (ACAA) unit; or use thiscommand to change the local telephone number associated with a COMSPHERE 3600 SeriesDBM.There are two telephone directories in the 3600 Series DSU’s DBM. The first directory is accessedwith the Change Call Directory (chcd) command. This directory stores the telephone numbers ofthe remote DBMs that are called when the DDS link fails. The second directory is accessed withthe Change Telephone Number(s) (chtn) command and contains the telephone number of the DBMitself. This is the telephone number used by the other DBMs to call it.For most commands, NMS enables you to specify the destination for the command’s results andschedule its execution. If the last page of the input form cannot accommodate the Destination forresults and Schedule execution fields, an additional page is provided. Standard addressing formatapplies to the input. For information on device addressing, refer to Appendix D of theCOMSPHERE 6800 Series Network Management System User’s/System Administrator’sGuide.The format of the second page depends on the device type specified in the initial input form. Forthe device specified, you can change the local and remote receive and transmit numbers.
