Make sure thatthe rubber sealing ring does not get stuckunder the edge of the water distribution disc.If it does, the coffee machine starts leaking.D Note:Be careful not to damage the metal tab onthe water distribution disc.7.2 Flushing the coffee machineIf you have not used the coffee machine for threedays, you have to flush it with fresh water to refreshthe water in the boiler before you use it again.Flush the machine in the following way:1 Fill the water reservoir with cold water up tothe MAX indication and put it back onto themachine. (Fig. 4)2 Put the 1-cup pod holder q or the 2-cup podholder qq in the machine without pod orpods. (Fig. 44)3 Close the lid and lock the lid lever (Fig. 18).4 Put a bowl (with a capacity of 1.5 litres) underthe coffee spout to collect the water (Fig. 3).5 Press the on/off button 3. (Fig. 7)• The light rings around the 1-cup button q andthe 2-cup button qq light up continuously.6 To start flushing, press the 1-cup button qand the 2-cup button qq briefly at the sametime. (Fig. 8)• During the flushing cycle, the water inthe water reservoir is flushed throughthe machine and the boiler is filled withfresh water.The flushing cycle takes sometime (approx. 90 to 150 seconds).7 Cleaning themachineA Danger:Never immerse the machine in water or anyother liquid.7.1 Cleaning the coffeemachine1 Always unplug the machine before you clean it.2 Clean the outside of the machine with a dampcloth.3 Remove the coffee collector (Fig. 36).4 Remove the coffee spout cover and take thecoffee spout out of the machine (Fig. 37).5 Clean the coffee spout cover, the coffeespout, the coffee collector and the drip tray inhot water, if necessary with some washing-upliquid, or in the dishwasher (Fig. 38).6 Hold the cup tray in your hand while youclean it with hot water. If necessary, use somewashing-up liquid (Fig. 39).The cup tray can also be cleaned in thedishwasher.B Warning:To clean the cup tray, always remove itfrom the machine. It may prove sharp whenhandled incorrectly. Always handle it carefully.7 Clean the pod holders in hot water, ifnecessary with some washing-up liquid, or inthe dishwasher. (Fig. 40)If the sieve in the centre of the pod holder isclogged, rinse the pod holder under a runningtap. If necessary, use a washing-up brush.8 Clean the water reservoir in hot water,if necessary with some washing-upliquid.
