For power controller installation information,please contact the supplier of the power controller.5.4.2 Safety controlsThese provisions must be designed according to a Performance Level (PL) indicator thatcorresponds with the current standard for safety functions of a machine or a machinecontrol in compliance with EN ISO 13849-1:2008. To the machine a PL_d applies, in whichd indicates that the risk must be substantially reduced.Guard the access door with a safety switchIf the fenced area has an access door, it must be guarded with a safety switch (blockingdevice). When opening the door, this switch activates the emergency stop and safetycircuit, switching off the main power and the control current to the machine.Emergency stop circuitThe machine must have an emergency stop circuit. When one of the emergency stopbuttons is pressed, the main power and the control current to the machine are switched offimmediately.Set the motor protection relayMotor protection devices must be set to the nominal motor current. A relay set too lowprevents optimum use of the motor. A relay set too high does not guarantee full thermalprotection.When a correctly set relay trips too often, reduce the load of the motor or use a largermotor.Thermistor protection (TF contact)For motors that are frequently started and stopped, intermittently operated, use a highswitching frequency or power controller, it is essential to use a motor protection relay andthermistor protection. This is to avoid prematurely switching the motor protection relay oroverheating of the motor winding in these operational conditions.Check continuously moving of productsIt is necessary to check if the products are continuously moving during transport to theinfeed and outfeed position by means of time monitoring in the software. When the time isexceeded, the machine must immediately stop to avoid damage.
