4 – Fast Fabric TUI MenuQLogic IB Chassis Admin via Fast Fabric4-12 D000006-000 Rev AQ4.3.3Update Chassis Firmware(Switch) This will run the ibtest -C update command to permit the chassisfirmware version to be verified and updated as needed.NOTE: The chassis must be running firmware version 4.0.0.4.3 or later to performthis function. If the chassis is not up to this level, it will need to be manuallyupdated via the chassis GUI. See the SilverStorm 9000 Users Guide formore information.NOTE: Consult the relevant chassis firmware release notes to ensure anyprerequisites for the upgrade to the new firmware level have been metprior to performing the upgrade via Fast Fabric.Prompts will guide the user through options:❥ push - push firmware to each chassis but do not change selected nor runningfirmware❥ select - push firmware to each chassis and select it for use on next reboot❥ run - push firmwarew to each chassis, select it for use and if its not the presentlyrunning firmware, reboot the chassisAdditional options prompted for:❥ parallel vs serial update❥ selection of firmware files or directory containing .pkg files❥ prompting for chassis password (default is to have password in fastfabric.conf)If any chassis fails to be updated, use the View ibtest result files optionto review the result files from the update. Refer to the section “Interpreting the ibtestlog files” on page 5-68 for more details.4.3.4Show Status of Chassis IB Ports(Switch) This will run the showallports -C command to allow the state and symbolerror counts of all chassis ports to be manually reviewed.(All) Instead it is recommended to run:iba_report -i 10 -o errors -o slowlinkson the IB Management node. This will check all the ports in the fabric for any linkswhich have high error rates or are running at a lower speed than expected. Anysuch identified links should be diagnosed and corrected.
