Select Hard Reset to perform a hard reset.4.6Configuring a SwitchSwitch configuration is divided into three areas: chassis configuration, networkconfiguration, and SNMP configuration. Chassis configuration specifiesswitch-wide Fibre Channel settings. Network configuration specifies IP settings,remote logging, and the NTP client. SNMP configuration specifies SNMP settingsand traps.You can configure a switch explicitly or you can use the Configuration Wizard. TheConfiguration Wizard is a series of dialogs that guide you through the chassis,network, and SNMP configuration steps on new or replacement switches.4.6.1Using the Configuration WizardThe Configuration Wizard is a series of dialogs you can use to configure the IPaddress and other basic parameters on new or replacement switches. Open theWizards menu and select Configuration Wizard. Use the Configuration Wizardto configure a new switch in a fabric.Hard Reset Resets a switch with a Power On Self Test. This reset activates thepending firmware and it is disruptive to switch traffic.NOTE: If performing a Reset or a Hard Reset, the supports files, the firmwareimage files that have not been unpacked, and the configuration backupfiles that were created on the switch will be deleted.Table 4-3.
