Slide the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.OPERATING THEBRUSHCUTTERFollow these steps to operate the brushcutter:1. Remove blade guard from the blade.2. Start the brushcutter.3. Hold the brushcutter at waist level with your right hand (armextended) on the trigger handle and your left hand on thefront handle.4. Place the product on the right side of your body with theengine behind and away from your body.5. Brushcut weeds and vines in a right-to-left motion with theblade parallel to the ground. See page 8 for more information.! WARNING: Do not touch these types of objectswith the blade.! WARNING: Do not cut with a dull, cracked ordamaged metal blade. Before cutting growth, inspectfor obstructions such as rocks, metal stakes orstrands of wire from fences. If an obstruction cannotbe removed, mark its location so that you can avoidit with the blade. Wires can catch on the blade headand be thrown in the air.MAINTENANCE! WARNING: Before performing any maintenance onthis machine, stop the engine and disconnect thesparkplug.WARNING: When replacing parts other than engineor emissions parts, use only Qualcut replacementparts. Use of any other parts may create a hazardor cause product damage.Before Each Use• Remove dirt and debris from the product exterior.• Inspect the engine, tank and hoses for possible fuel leaksand repair as necessary.• Inspect the engine cooling fins for accumulation of debrisand clean as necessary.• Inspect the entire machine for damage, loose and missingcomponents or fasteners and repair as necessary.Cleaning the Product• Stop the product before cleaning.• Clean the exterior of the product with a damp cloth.• Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Mostplastics are susceptible to damage from various types ofcommercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.• Scrape debris away from air intake vents on both sides ofthe motor housing.
