11Quicksilver 810 Arvor — System & Component Overview and Operation1. Fuel SystemYour boat’s diesel fuel system consists of a fuel tank, a fuel tank fill and vent fitting, a sending unit, ashutoff valve, an engine fuel supply line, and an engine fuel return line. In addition, there is an inlinefuel filter to provide the adequate level of filtration for the system.Fuel TankYour boat is equipped with a crosslink polyethylene fuel tank with a capacity of 300 liters. As aprecaution, all of the capacity may not be useable due to trim and loading conditions, so considerkeeping at a minimum 25% reserve fuel in the tank.Fuel tanks with levels less than 25% capacity can cause engine stalling problems due to fuel starvationor by allowing sediment and dirt to enter the fuel supply lines. Keep the tank full and monitor the fuellevel often to prevent this from happening.Fuel DistributionFuel is delivered from the tank to the engine through the shutoff valve and the fuel feed line. Theshutoff valve, located on the starboard aft side of the cockpit behind an access plate, is a safetyfeature designed to prevent fuel from siphoning out of the tank if the fuel feed line was ever cut orbroken below the level of the fuel in the tank. If the feed line ever broke, you can close the valve toprevent the entire contents of the tank siphoning into the boat.Filling The TankIt is best to maintain a full tank of fuel when the engine is not in use. This will reduce the air flow inand out of the tank due to changes in temperature. When filling the tank, do not attempt to top off the tank. When the nozzle shuts off, the tank is full, and continuing to fill past the fuel fill shutoff will cause the system to spit fuel back.Fuel / Water SeparatorThe engine is provided with an element-type fuel filter built into the engine, however, to eliminatewater and dirt, a 10 micron primary fuel / water separator is installed in the system.MaintenancePeriodically inspect for the presence of water in the fuel tank.
