Using the Remote ControlDVD andVCRbuttonsREVERSEandPLAYbuttonsibuttoniaii_ _n iii iiiii!iiiiiir _ _ JstopbuttonIYnu'llusethesebutt(mswheupro_rammiu_the re_uote.UsingAutomatic Code SearchThe following instructionscan be usedto program theremote to operate each of your components. If you want tostop the automatic code search without programming any ofyour components, pressCL[AR until the indicator on theremote turns off.I.2.Turn on the component Wu want to operate (VCRor DVDplayer)Pressand hold the component button you want toprogram [VCRor DVD),While holding the componentbutton, pressand hold ON*OFF until the indicator on theremote turns on, then releaseboth buttons.Point the remote at the component. Pressand releasePLAY,then wait 5 seconds or until the indicator on theremote stops flashing.At this point the remote is searching for the correct codeto program. If, after 5 seconds,the component you wantto operate does not turn off, pressPLAYagain to tell theremote to search the next set of codes.Continue pressing PLAYuntil the component turns off oryou have searched through all of the codes.There are 20total sets of codes.If the component does not turn offafter pressingPLAY20 times, then the remote can't beprogrammed to operate that component.if the component you want to operate doesturn off:1. Pressand releaseREVERSE,then wait 2 seconds.Repeatthis step until the device turns back ON.2. To finish, pressand hold STOPuntil the indicator on theremote turns off.UsingDirectEatryI. Turn on the component to be programmed.2. Look up the brand and code number(sj for the component on the code list in this section.3. Pressand hold the component button you want to program on the remote.4. Enter the code from the remote control code list on the following pages.If the ]ndkator flashes, youhaveeither entered an invalid code or the button isn't programmable.5. Releasethe component button.6. Point the remote at the component PressON*Off to see if the component responds to thecommand, if it doesn't, try pressingthe component button and then ON*OFf again.• if you get no response,repeat these steps using the next code listed for your brand, until thecomponent respondsto the remote commands.• If you try all the codes for your component brand and none work, try the automatic code searchmethod, tf automatic code search doesn't find the code, the remote is not compatible with yourcomponentPh_n÷_r 9 1 1
