Press the INFO buttonto display the channel banner. Look at the left corner for a channel number. Channels witha primary channel and a subchannel is a digital channel, but not all digital channels havesubchannels. Look at the right corner for the format (4:3 for analog and sometimes digital;16:9 for digital) and resolution the TV is receiving. Go to page 26 for more information.Why does channel search find a lot of channels, but when I try to tune to themthere’s nothing there?Some channels are enabled by the cable company that don’t carry programming, such asvideo-on-demand. When channels are unavailable, your TV’s screen displays UnusableSignal. You probably want to get rid of these so they no longer appear in your channel list.Remove these in the Channel List menu. Go to page 55 for more information.Why does the first channel search take a long time?If you’ve checked each box in the channel search menu, the TV is looking for all availablechannels in the channel list. If you do have digital channels, the TV is also searching foreach subchannel of that digital channel.How do I control other devices I’ve connected to the TV?Because your TV came with a universal remote, you can program your remote to thebutton corresponding with the device you have connected to your TV. Go to page 36 forinformation on programming your remote.Why do I have sound, but no picture when I turn on my TV?There is a lamp inside the TV which needs approximately one minute to reach fullbrightness. You’ll hear audio during this time and the picture increasingly gets brighter asthe lamp warms up.Why are there black bars on my screen and can I get rid of them?Analog channels are sent in a 4:3 format, which cannot fill a 16:9 screen like your TV. Mostdigital channels are sent in a 16:9 format which do fill your screen, but sometimes are sentin 4:3. It depends on how the station is formatting the video.
