References66 Chapter 5Limited WarrantyWhat your warranty covers:• Defects in materials or workmanship.For how long after your purchase:• One year from date of purchase for labor.• One year from date of purchase for parts.• Two years from date of purchase for the picture tube.The warranty period for rental units begins with the first rental or 45 days from date of shipment to the rental firm,whichever comes first.What we will do:• Pay an Authorized Service Center the labor charges to repair your unit.• Pay an Authorized Service Center for the new, or at our option, refurbished replacement parts and picture tube requiredto repair your unit.How you get service:• Call 1--877-RCA-HDTV and have your unit’s date of purchase and model/serial number ready.• A representative will troubleshoot your problem over the phone.• If the representative determines that you should receive service, they will provide you with the name(s) of theAuthorized Service Center in your area.• Contact the Service Center and arrange for home or pick up, repair, and return service, provided that your unit islocated within the geographic territory covered by an Authorized Service Center. If not, you must take your unit to theService Center location at your own expense, or pay for the cost the Service Center may charge to transport your unit toand from your home.• Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice which is evidence that the product is within thewarranty period must be presented to obtain warranty service. For rental firms, proof of first rental is also required.What your warranty does not cover:• Customer instruction. (Your Owner’s Manual describes how to install, adjust, and operate your unit. Any additionalinformation should be obtained from your dealer.)• Installation and related adjustments.• Damage resulting from non-approved installation methods.• Signal reception problems not caused by your unit.• Damage from misuse or neglect.• Batteries.• Images burnt onto the screen.• A television that has been modified or incorporated into other products, or is used for institutional or other commercialpurposes.• A unit purchased or serviced outside the U.S.A.• Acts of nature, such as but not limited to lightning damage.Product Registration:• Please complete and mail the Product Registration Card with your unit. It will make it easier to contact you should itever be necessary. The return of the card is not required for warranty coverage.
