Inactive channels (weak stations orchannels with no signal at all) aren’t placed in the channel list.The Channel Search screen lets you choose a Full Search or a Quick Search.Full Search Searches both Antenna A and B, and automatically detectswhether they are cable or off-air.Note: A Full Search can take several minutes.Quick Search Searches only for channels on the antenna you’re currentlyusing and uses the current Air or Cable setting. For optimum reception, youneed to conduct a Quick Search after you’ve adjusted a terrestrial antennabecause the TV might pick up new channels.Notes: Channel Search takes a long time to complete because all possibleanalog and digital channels are being searched.If a cable box is connected to Antenna A and GUIDE Plus+ setup wasperformed, a channel search will not be permitted.Software UpgradeThe Software Upgrade screen contains current software information andindicates if a new upgrade is available. The software information and upgradescan be accomplished only if you have the TV connected via the Ethernet cableto the Internet with ISP subscription.Note: If using a dialup service via a router connected at a dialup speedof 56K, the Software Upgrade could take several hours or more. If TV isunplugged while doing a Software Upgrade during this time, it couldrender the TV inoperable.Signal SourceThe Signal Source menu allows you to choose the source from which youwould like the signal to come: Antenna A, Antenna B, or Video Inputs. Thesame can be accomplished using the component buttons if you’ve set up AutoTuning on the remote or the INPUT button. When you run a Full Searchin Channel Search, the TV automatically detects your signal and you don’t haveto specify it here. However, if you decide to change the source, you can use theSignal Type screen. Changing the source on Antenna A may mean that you willhave to make changes to your GUIDE Plus+ setup settings.
