Turn VOLUME toward MIN until itstops.2. Set RADIO/P.A. to RADIO. (To usethe P.A. setting, see “Using the P.A.(Public Address) Function” on Page11.3. Turn the band selector to theband(s) you want to listen to.4. If you selected any band other thanAM, SW1 or SW2, fully extend thetelescoping antenna on top of theradio.If you selected SW1 or SW2, connectthe supplied wire antenna to ANT onthe front of the radio. (See “Con-necting the Wire Antenna” on Page7.)Note: The radio uses the attacheddirectional antenna (DIRECTIONFINDER) for AM band reception. Theposition of the radio’s telescopingantenna does not affect AM bandreception.5. For reduced sound distortion anddrift-free FM reception, set AFC(Automatic Frequency Control) toON.6. Set POWER to ON to turn on theradio.7. Adjust VOLUME toward MAX toincrease the volume, or toward MINto decrease it.8.
