119. To select a different station/fre-quency, rotate TUNING (the outsideknob) on the front of the radio. Theyellow bar on the multi-band scalemoves to indicate the current tuningposition. The needle on the TUNING/BATTERY meter moves toward 10 asthe signal strength increases ortoward 0 as it decreases (see“Reading the TUNING/BATTERYMeter).Notes:• If you selected the AM band, turnDIRECTION FINDER (the direc-tional AM antenna) on top of theradio to fine tune the selected AMstation.• If you selected the SW1 or SW2band, rotate FINE TUNING (theknob inside TUNING) to fine tunethe selected SW frequency.10. To turn off the radio when you finish,set POWER to OFF.READING THE TUNING/BATTERY METERThe radio’s TUNING/BATTERY meter in-dicates the current signal strength andthe current battery strength (if you in-stalled batteries).With POWER set to ON and RADIO/P.A.set to RADIO, the position of the needleon the top portion of the meter showsthe current signal strength on a scale of0 (weakest signal) to 10 (strongest sig-nal).With POWER set to ON and RADIO/P.A.set to P.A., the position of the needle onthe lower (green-shaded) portion of themeter shows the current batterystrength. The needle points toward theright when the battery strength is strong,and moves to the left as the batterystrength weakens.USING THE P.A.
