III User Manual Pedelec with centre motor 91 Quick start› 1. Charge the battery completely before riding forthe first time.Unlocking the battery› 2. To remove the battery, grip the handle, insertthe key into the lock and turn it anticlockwise. Thebattery is now unlocked.› 3. Tilt the battery sideways and lift it with bothhands out of the holder.Tilt to remove› 4. Put the battery in the docking station of thecharger. The battery LEDs light up or flash duringcharging. You must fully charge the battery beforeusing it for the first time.› 5. Once all LEDs have gone out, take the batteryout of the docking station.› 6. Reinsert the battery into the holder on thePedelec from the left-hand side. Move the batteryoutwards at an angle of roughly 45° as you do so,as you did when you took it out of the holder. Movethe battery into the upright position until the lock-ing mechanism engages. If the key is still in thelock, you will need to turn it clockwise and pull itout to allow the battery to lock in place.› 7. Make sure that the battery is securely posi-tioned and that the key is no longer in the lock.› 8. If your Pedelec is equipped with a LCD controlpanel: Continue at 10.› If your Pedelec is equipped with an LED controlpanel:Push the "Power" button on the control panel onthe handlebar. Wait for 2 seconds before turningthe pedals. The drive system requires this timewhen no force is applied to the pedals to adjust thepower sensor correctly.› 9. The intermediate power-assist mode appearson the display panel of the LED control panel.Press the "Mode" buttons to select the level of as-sistance: "gentle / LOW", "intermediate / MID" or"powerful / HIGH“. Press this button once to changethe assist level by one level. You can increase orreduce the assistance, depending on which "Mode"button you press.› 10. If your Pedelec is equipped with a LCD controlpanel:Push the "On / Off" button on the control panel onthe handlebar. Wait for 2 seconds before turningthe pedals. The drive system requires this periodafter switching on during which no force is appliedto the pedals to adjust the power sensor correctly.Press the "Assist" button to select the power assistmode. This works in both directions. The assis-tance output increases or decreases depending onwhich “Assist” button you press. If you are usingthe most powerful setting then press the buttonagain, you return to a mode without assistance.Always operate one of the brakes before putting oneof your feet on a pedal as the motor pulls your bikeaway immediately. This starting assistance is veryconvenient, especially when starting on hills. If youstart off in road traffic or on unsurfaced roads withoutcontrolling your speed, you could come off your bikeand seriously injure yourself.› 11. You can now ride off.
