Remove the sump filler cap and with themachine on level ground check to see ifsump is filled with oil, if not fill sump up tothe top of the filler hole threads with arecommended engine oil.2. Fill the petrol tank with fresh regular gradelead free petrol.3. Lubricate the machine (as recommended insection 11).TO START THE ENGINE1. Ensure that the cylinder clutch isdisengaged.2. Turn fuel tap to 'ON' position.3. Ensure that the Parking Brake is engaged.4. Move the choke lever to the STARTposition.5. Set the ignition cutout switch to the ‘ON’position.6. Pull the rope operated recoil starter fully tostart the engine. Allow the rope to recoilslowly before releasing the handle.7. Move the choke lever to the RUNNINGposition.TO STOP THE ENGINE1. Disengage the Operator PresenceSystem, set the ignition cutout switch tothe ‘OFF’ position and disengage cylinderclutch.IMPORTANT If machine is being left over night orstored turn the fuel tap to the 'OFF' position.NOTE: DO NOT allow the engine to idle forlong periods.TO OPERATE EFFICIENTLYKeep the machine clean, to avoid grass clippingsdropping on to the turf.Ensure that the concave is set correctly to delivergrass clippings into the grass box.Clear any build up of grass on the front roll etc. whenemptying the grass box.Keep the space between the rear roll, top deck andconcave clean.Do not leave the cylinder running when the machineis stationery as this will bruise the grass.
