GB-21RANSOMES SMALL PEDESTRIAN RANGESAFETY, OPERATORS, MAINTENANCE AND PARTS MANUAL8 ADJUSTMENTS8.5 MARQUIS: CYLINDER TO BOTTOM BLADEADJUSTMENT (A Fig. 8.5)To check that the cutting cylinder is correctly to thebottom blade, tilt the machine back, hold a thinpiece of paper between the edge of the blade andspiral cutters and turn the cylinder manually.The paper should be cut cleanly along the length ofthe bottom blade, if not, some adjustment isnecessary, BUT DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.Adjustment is made by turning the adjustmentscrews (A) clockwise to move the cylinder closer tothe blade.It is recommended that an 1/8 of a turn is madealternately to each adjusting screw, checkingfrequently with the paper until the correct setting isachieved.8.6 SUPER CERTES/SUPER BOWL: CYLINDERTO BOTTOM BLADE ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 8.6)To check that the cutting cylinder is set correctly tothe bottom blade: tilt the machine back, hold a thinpiece of paper between the edge of the blade andspiral cutters and turn the cylinder manually.The paper should be cut cleanly along the length ofthe bottom blade, if not some adjustment isnecessary BUT DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN - thecylinder must be able to turn freely.Adjustment is made by loosening the locknut (A)and turning the adjustment screws (B) clockwise tomove the cylinder towards the blade.It is recommended that an eighth of a turn is madealternately to each screw, checking frequently withthe paper until the correct setting is achieved.WARNINGTurn petrol tap to the “OFF” position beforetilting the machine rearwards.8.7 CYLINDER CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 8.7)The adjustment of the cylinder clutch is made withthe clutch in the engaged position. slacken the twonuts (B) either side of the plate, then turn them bothin the same direction until the correct adjustmenthas been made.
