en-9SAFETY 3To guard against overturning:- Do not stop or start suddenly when you goup or downhill;- Engage the clutch slowly, always keep themachine in gear, when you go downhill;- Low speed must be used when you workon slopes and when you make tight turns;- Stay alert for humps and hollows and othernot seen hazards;- Never use a mower across the face of theslope, unless the machine is for thispurpose;f) When pulling loads or using heavyequipment, be careful;- Use only approved drawbars;- Limit loads to those you can safely control;- Do not turn suddenly. Be careful when youmove in a reverse direction;- Use counterweight(s) or wheel weightswhen recommended in the instructionhandbook;g) Be careful of traffic when you move acrossor near roadways;h) Stop the blades rotating before you moveacross surfaces except on grass;i) Do not direct grass toward persons or allowpersons near the machine when inoperation;j) Do not operate the machine with damagedguards, or without safety devices inposition;k) Do not change the engine governorsettings or over speed the engine. Tooperate the engine at more than thesuppliers set speed can increase thehazard of personal injury;l) When you leave the operator's position:- Disengage the drive to the attachments andlower to the ground.- Change into neutral and set the parkingbrake;- Stop the engine and remove the key;m) Disengage the drive to attachments, stopthe engine, disconnect the spark plug wireand remove the ignition key:- Before, you remove a blockage or youclean a grass chute;- Before you check, clean or work on themachine;- After, you hit an object. Inspect themachine for damage and make repairsbefore you restart and operate theequipment;- If the machine begins to vibrate, checkimmediately;n) disengage the drive to attachments whentransporting or not in operation;o) stop the engine and disengage drive toattachment:- Before, you refuel;- Before, you remove the grassbox;- Before, you make height adjustment unlessadjustment can be made from theoperator's position;p) Decrease the throttle setting during theengine run-out and, if the engine has ashut-off valve, turn the fuel off at the end ofmowing.3.1.4 Maintenance and storagea) keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight tomake sure the equipment is in safe workingcondition;b) Do not store the equipment with petrol inthe tank inside a building where fumes canreach an open flame or spark;c) When you store in any enclosed area, allowthe engine to become cool first;d) to decrease the fire hazard, keep theengine, silencer, battery compartment andpetrol storage area free from grass, leaves,or grease;e) Check the grass collector often for wear ordamage;f) Replace worn or damaged parts for safety;g) If the fuel tank is drained, do this outdoors.and:a) On machines with many blades, be carefulwhen you rotate one blade, it can causeother blades to rotate.;b) When the machine is parked, stored or leftwithout an operator, lower the cuttingdevice unless a positive mechanical lock isused.
