21.1 Servicing and safetyYour Raymarine product must be serviced by authorized personnelto ensure effective and safe performance.• Raymarine equipment must be serviced only by authorizedRaymarine service technicians. They will ensure that serviceprocedures and any replacement parts used will not affectperformance. There are no user serviceable parts in anyRaymarine product.• Some products generate high voltages, so never handle thecables or connectors when power is being supplied to theequipment.• When powered on, all electrical equipment produceselectromagnetic fields. These fields can cause adjacent pieces ofelectrical equipment to interact with one another, with an adverseeffect on operation. In order to minimize these effects and enableyou to get the best possible performance from your Raymarineequipment, guidelines are given in the installations manual.These guidelines enable you to ensure minimum interactionbetween different items of equipment, and achieve optimumElectromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).• Always report any EMC-related problem to your nearestRaymarine dealer. We use such information to improve ourquality standards.• In some installations, it may not be possible to prevent theequipment from being affected by external influences. Generallythis will not damage the display, but it can lead to spuriousre-setting action, or momentarily may result in faulty operation.• At the end of the useful working life of this product, it shoulddisposed of in accordance with local regulations.21.2 Routine equipment checksRaymarine strongly recommends that you complete a number ofroutine checks to ensure the correct and reliable operation of yourequipment.Complete the following checks on a regular basis:• Examine all cables for signs of damage or wear and tear.• Check that all cables are securely connected.212 C-Series Widescreen user reference
