If positional data has beenselected for display, your position will be displayed in the data barunder VES POS.Chart orientationThe orientation of a chart refers to the relationship between thechart and the direction that you are travelling in.It is used in conjunction with motion mode to control how yourvessel and chart relate to one another and how they are displayedon screen.The mode you choose applies to all chart instances, and is restoredat power up.The following options are available:North Up (N-up)In North Up mode, the chart orientation is fixed with true northupwards. As your heading changes the vessel symbol movesaccordingly. This is the default mode for the chart application.Head Up (H-up)Head Up mode displays the chart with your vessel’s current headingupwards. As the heading changes the vessel symbol remains fixedand the chart picture rotates accordingly.Note: To prevent continuous backwards and forwards rotationsas the vessel yaws from side-to-side, the chart will not updateunless the heading changes by at least 10 degrees from the lastdisplayed orientation.72 E-Series Widescreen User reference
