6.7 Chart vectorsChart vectors display indicators for heading and COG, and windand tide direction.A range of vector graphics can be superimposed on to the chartdisplay. The following vectors can be independently enabled ordisabled in the 2D set up menu, accessible from the Chart SetupMenu:D11746-1Vector descriptionsHDG (heading) vector — a red line shows the vessel’s heading. An arrow headis used if the vector length is set to a value other than infinite.COG (Course Over Ground) vector — a green line indicates the vessel’sactual course. A double arrow head is used if the vector length is set to a valueother than infinite.Vector descriptionsTide arrow — tide is displayed as a blue line with solid arrow head pointingaway from your vessel, in the direction of the tidal set. The width of the arrowindicates the tide strength.Wind arrow — wind direction is displayed as a yellow line with solid arrowheads pointing towards your vessel, indicating the wind direction. The width ofthe arrow indicates the wind strength.Note: If neither Speed Over Ground (SOG) or heading data isavailable, vectors cannot be displayed.Vector lengthThe length of the HDG and COG vector lines is determined by thedistance your vessel will travel in the time you have specified (3mins, 6 mins or Infinite) in the Chart Setup Menu at the currentspeed. Any times that you specify will apply to all chart views, and ifthe Infinite option is selected, the vector will extend to the edge ofthe chart window.Enabling and disabling chart vectorsIn the 2D chart view:1. Press the MENU button.2. Select Chart Setup.3. Select 2D set up.4.
