37Ignition Control FunctionsWhen there is a call for heat, and all safeties areclosed, then the combustion air blower starts to purgeair from the combustion chamber. After the pre-purge,the igniter is energized. The standard ignition modulewill lock-out after failing to light 3 times during a call forheat. To reset the lock-out, press and release theRESET button located on the user interface. The con-trol will automatically reset after 1 hour. When inlock-out the control will run the blower through a post-purge cycle.The single-try ignition module (part of the CSD-1option) will attempt to light only one time before lock-out occurs. To reset the lock-out, press and relase theRESET button located on the user interface.Turning off the power to the heater WILL NOT resetthe single-try ignition module.High Limit—Manual ResetThis heater is equipped with a fixed setting manual re-set high limit temperature device as standard. It mayalso have an additional optional adjustable manualreset high temperature device.StandardThe fixed setting manual reset high limit is built into thePIM™, it utilizes a dual element sensor located on theoutlet (see Fig. 38). To reset a high limit lock-out, pressand release the RESET button located on the userinterface.StorageComponents should be stored in a clean, dry environ-ment in their original packaging. Non-UV stabilizedplastic components must be protected from prolongedexposure to UV light.Appliance Start-UpOnce polypropylene installation is complete, the heat-ing system and flue should be commissioned followingRaypak’s instructions. There is no cure time or waittime required.ControlsWARNING: Verify that vent pipes are adequatelyand securely supported; the vent weight must not besupported by the heater; this may causeunwarrantable damage.WARNING: Installation, adjustment and service ofheater controls, including timing of various operatingfunctions, must be performed by a qualified installer,service agency or the gas supplier.
